A few of our favorite things.

These are a few of our favorite items when dealing with a g-tube and blenderized diet.  We don't get anything for telling you about how much we love them.  I am just telling you, because, we really love them.

Blendtec Blender.   We have a total blender classic.  We chose blendtec because we had heard they were amazing to work with.  They have not dissapointed.  The blender can pulverize anything.  No really.  Go watch some of the videos they post.  It has a seven year warranty.  One of the o-rings in our jar broke.  It still blended, but I was in panic mode because it's the only way our child can eat.  I called the company, certain I would get the run around about how I needed to send the jar back.  Nope.  They sent me a new one, apologized for the inconvenience, and told me to just discard the old one.  So I never had to figure out how to feed my child interim.  I know multiple families who have these blenders.  I have heard only great things.

O-ring catheter tip syringes.  We are not given enough syringes to last us all month through our medical supply company.  They work great the first time, but the rubber wears out very quickly, and with the food, it often means a moment where food won't come out at all turning into a moment where food is shooting all over the ceiling.  No really.  So these syringes are not your typical thick piece of rubber syringes.  They have an o-ring, making them very easy to use, and able to be used over and over again without the need to repaint the textured ceiling in your dining room.

Tubie Pads.  We used gauze around our beauty's g-tube for the first little bit.  I hated it.  She was still getting granulation tissue.  It looked medical.  And to be quite honest, I hated the tedious cut out of the gauze, taping it together, and still having to replace it at least once because it would fall off.  These tube pads are awesome.  We started with the round ones because they were cheaper.  We asked for some cool ones for Christmas.  Now we have a whole awesome collection of g-tube pads, no granulation tissue, and I just wash them and reuse them.  Plus, everywhere we go, doctors and nurses talk about how cute they are.
